News / Audio memory bench live in the park

The legacy audio bench project was organised and initiated by The Friends of Grovelands Park supported by the London Borough of Enfield making a contribution to the park from funds acquired from their Dinosaur event in the park last summer.

Next time you are passing rest on the bench and share these precious memories and if you have any memories of your own or know others who may wish to share theirs do let the Friends of Grovelands Park know by emailing: info@friendsofgrovelands.co.uk

The borough’s first solar powered audio bench has been installed in Grovelands Park, part the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations. Visitors to the park can sit on this special bench and listen to a short history of the park as well as a selection of treasured memories recorded. The recollections come from Thomas Ridge, Audrey Leech, Fr. John Cornish, Mary Castro, Jean Alderman and the late Rosa Freyman who was 99 when she talked about the park she loved.
