As we reported earlier in the summer our beautiful heron, that was carved and we had installed in the wood near the Branscombe bridge, was targeted by some mindless vandals, who used brute force to push it off the mounting causing the heron to fall on the ground and a parts of the design to break off and split.
Happily thanks to the skill and hard work of Scott Rampling, a skilled carpenter, the splits and damage have been carefully repaired and he has re-set the Heron back on to a firm concrete base covered with top-soil. Scott , who lives in Enfield visits the park to walk his dog and like all of us was disgusted when he saw the Heron laying damaged on the ground. Kindly he gave up his time to carefully repair it and we are most grateful to him for doing such an excellent job.
