Courtesy of a much-appreciated initiative by Thames 21 a highly skilled chainsaw operating tree carver arrived in the park and has created some wonderful additions out of a fallen dead tree. What appears at first glance to be some sort of Jurassic creature, a stranger to our park, turns out to be on closer inspection a rather large newt and they are of course part of the wildlife of the park. It is hoped that we will also get a Heron carved out of another tree. This montage has been cleverly created and will appeal to children but there has been a suggestion that as the newt is quite large the group should be divided up and spread around various locations in the park so they will fit in better and be seen by more people as not all our visitors use the Seaforth gate. Please let us know what you think.
